Withdrawal Policy

Pak Advances in Engineering Research understands that there may be instances where authors need to withdraw their manuscript from the publication process. This policy ensures that authors are fully informed about the withdrawal process and the conditions under which a manuscript can be withdrawn.

Key Aspects of the Withdrawal Policy:

Withdrawal Before Submission:

  • Authors can withdraw their manuscript at any time before submitting it to the journal's submission system.

  • No fees will be charged, and the manuscript will not be processed further.

  • Authors should promptly inform the editorial team via email, and the manuscript will be removed from the system.

Withdrawal After Submission but Before Peer Review:

  • If a manuscript has been submitted but has not yet entered the peer review process, authors may request to withdraw it.

  • The manuscript will be withdrawn from consideration, and no publication fees will be charged.

  • Authors must submit a formal written request to the editorial team, including the manuscript ID, title, and reason for withdrawal.

Withdrawal During Peer Review:

  • If the manuscript is in the peer review stage, authors may request to withdraw it at any time before the final decision is made.

  • If the manuscript has already been sent to reviewers, the author must provide a valid reason for withdrawal.

  • In such cases, the author may be responsible for partial fees related to the editorial and review process, depending on the stage of review.

Withdrawal After Acceptance but Before Publication:

  • Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author is expected to proceed with the publication process.

  • However, if a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before publication, the author may be responsible for partial publication fees if editorial or production work has already been completed (e.g., copyediting, typesetting).

  • The withdrawal request should be made as soon as possible, and the editorial team will assess the situation on a case-by-case basis.

Withdrawal After Publication:

  • Once an article has been published, it cannot be withdrawn as it becomes part of the journal's permanent, publicly accessible archive.

  • If the author wishes to remove their article due to ethical concerns, errors, or other significant reasons, the article will not be removed. Instead, a retraction notice will be issued. The retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction and will be linked to the original article for transparency.

Refunds Upon Withdrawal:

  1. Before Peer Review or After Initial Submission: If a manuscript is withdrawn before it enters the production process (i.e., before peer review or after initial submission), any applicable publication fees may be refunded in full, minus any administrative charges.

  2. After Acceptance but Before Publication: Withdrawal after acceptance but before publication may result in a partial refund or no refund, depending on the work already completed (e.g., editorial, peer review costs).

  3. After Publication: Once an article is published, no refunds will be issued.

Request Process:

  • To withdraw a manuscript, authors must send a formal written request to the editorial team via email. The request should include the manuscript title, ID, and a clear reason for the withdrawal.

  • The editorial team will review the request and confirm the withdrawal status. Authors will be notified once their manuscript has been officially withdrawn from consideration.

Consequences of Unauthorized Withdrawal:

  • If an author withdraws a manuscript without notifying the editorial team or without a valid reason (e.g., submitting the manuscript elsewhere while it is still under consideration at Pak Advances in Engineering Research), the manuscript may be flagged. The author may also face restrictions on future submissions to the journal.

Conclusion:

This withdrawal policy ensures clarity, fairness, and transparency in handling manuscript withdrawals, while protecting the integrity and quality of the journal’s editorial process. Pak Advances in Engineering Research is committed to supporting authors in their decision-making process, providing a professional and ethical framework for manuscript management.
